    Shenandoah University is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor of Media and Communication, Film Production. This full-time position with rank dependent upon qualifications begins August 2021.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 

    Film production, multimedia storytelling, documentary filmmaking, animation, film theory/criticism, as well as in the candidate’s area of specialization. Teaching responsibilities may also include introductory courses in film, media and visual communication.

    We are a small but growing department that has co-produced feature films with a major film production company and released on Netflix/Amazon. We are looking for someone who can contribute creative energy to developing courses and expanding the department’s film production program.

    All faculty at Shenandoah University are expected to contribute to community and university service, including advising, and to remain active scholars/artists in their fields.

     

    Required Skills

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    The ideal candidate should have: an MFA or PhD; a demonstrated record of excellence in professional/creative/academic work; and a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching. (An MA with an extensive professional/creative record may be considered.)
