Tutoring Coordinator Main Campus - Boston, MA/en-US/Simmons-Careers/job/Main-Campus---Boston-MA/Tutoring-Coordinator_R04427-1/apply Under the supervision of the Director of The Writing Center and Academic Resources, the Tutoring Center Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the administrative functions of the Tutoring Center at Simmons College, providing one-on-one or group tutoring support, and assessing and responding to academic support needs in undergraduate programs across Simmons. Essential Functions: Recruits student workers (peer tutors, study group leaders, learning assistants) and professional tutors: * Solicits names of potential tutors from faculty; * Contacts, interviews, hires candidates; * Manages tutoring contracts; * Provides orientations for student workers and professional tutors; * Provides training for learning assistants (with the Center for Excellence in Teaching). Schedules and supervises student workers and professional tutors: * Manages WCOnline tutoring schedule; * Evaluates student workers and professional tutors; * Assesses impact of Tutoring Services by collecting usage data, tutor evaluations; * Gathers data on skills/topics tutors and tutees work on; * Maintains records of tutor hours for payroll amp; budget. Tutors students individually or in small groups. Manages tutee amp; faculty expectations: * Assesses tutoring needs across courses/disciplines Responds to student/faculty questions/concerns; * Explains tutoring processes/ policies/expectations. Coordinates with Writing Center: * Aligns policies, web pages, resources, etc. Manages common space in Center for Student Success. Qualifications * Master's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Science or related field. * Minimum of 3 years experience. * Experience in the areas of tutoring and peer mentor programs. * Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations of college students. * Excellent quantitative skills. * Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
