Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Treatment Plans for each of the students in the dormitory that the counselor is assigned. Provide for the well-being, care, and therapeutic and recreational programming utilizing interventions on developmental theory and counseling skills for each student. Serve as an active listener to the student's concerns and support adaptive and pro-social problem solving skills. Attend dormitory meetings, complete all required daily documentation in atimely manner, and participate in special dormitory activities including: birthdays, new student admissions, and graduations. Communicate observationsand concerns with members of the clinical team so that the student's strengths and weakness can be fully recognized and addressed. Maintain the physical space of the dormitories, including student's individuals areas, to ensure it is clean, neat, well-organized, and reflecting the values of the school and the goals of the children's treatment plans. As members of the therapeutic milieu, participate in and facilitate school-wide activities as assigned and serve as a role model, particularly regarding treating oneself and others with respect and dignity. Education Bachelor's degree required. Certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) within three months of employment required. Degree in related discipline preferred. Some graduate level course work in the social sciences preferred.
