This position serves current students, potential students, and the public as the initial face-to-face contact for the Advising Center, and connects current and potential students with the resources they need to succeed. Minnaert Center for the Arts What You'll Do The Program Coordinator - Advising serves as the first point of contact for the Advising Center and provides office support and organization to the department. This position will welcome and direct students and visitors, respond to inquiries, and schedule student appointments. The Program Coordinator - Advising will assist students with Compass and basic online student tasks and provide support to the Director and Advising Center staff, including: Scheduling and reserving space for meetings, workshops, events and appointments; Creating and managing quarterly advising calendar; Creating flyers and forms; In collaboration with the Director, maintain and update Advising Center webpages, training manual(s), training schedule, vacation schedule, Educational Planner work schedules, quarterly calendar, Director's calendar; Run and/or create reports and provide data on Advising Center activities; Help with the coordination of Advising events, such as the Transfer Fair and Advising Day; Scanning Educational Plans and uploading them to ILINX (or other systems); Update and maintain Compass and HP3000 databases. The Program Coordinator - Advising coordinates administrative aspects of the Running Start program, such as enrollment, billing, High School contacts, fee waivers, and book loans and will set up Information/Orientation Sessions. This position will coordinate administrative aspects of the New Student Advising and Registration sessions (NSAR), including creation of the annual NSAR schedule, and maintenance of accurate NSAR registration data. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong aptitude for attention to detail and accuracy of information, multicultural competence (including an awareness and understanding of historically disadvantaged populations) and create an educational and work environment that affirms commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion while supporting the college's mission by creating a work environment of mutual respect and fairness which encouraging creative and critical thinking. Qualifications You Possess High school diploma AND two years of progressively responsible experience in business, higher education office, clerical, or administrative work. Demonstrated commitment to high level customer service. Advanced knowledge of computers and software applications, specifically MS Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel). Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including good listening skills, with the ability to present oneself in a professional manner. Ability to work well with others and function as a team member. Demonstrated experience or participation with persons from diverse backgrounds such as sexual orientation, racial, ethnic, religious, linguistic, gender, age, socio-economic, physical and learning abilities, and a commitment to an inclusive and equitable working/learning environment. Preferred qualifications: Associate's or bachelor's degree. Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks, work under pressure, meet deadlines and accommodate numerous interruptions while performing multiple tasks.
