    Job Description

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The Dixie L. Leavitt School of Business at Southern Utah University seeks applicants for a Lecturer of Marketing. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track position to start August 15, 2021, conditional on funding. Teaching duties include undergraduate and MBA courses in Marketing Principles and other courses in the field of marketing as needed. Teaching load is generally four or five courses each semester. The Leavitt School of Business is AACSB accredited and places significant emphasis on providing an engaging learning experience for students. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

    Southern Utah University is a comprehensive, state-supported, regional graduate and undergraduate degree-granting institution located in Cedar City, Utah, with an enrollment of about 15,000 students. It is home to the Utah Shakespeare Festival and is surrounded by national parks, monuments, forests and wilderness areas that draw millions of visitors annually from around the world. The university is located about 2 hours from Las Vegas and 3 hours from Salt Lake City.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Teach undergraduate and MBA courses in Marketing. Candidates should have the ability to teach both face-to-face and online courses, and to provide focused instruction in a marketing niche area such as digital marketing, logistics & supply chain management, professional sales, entrepreneurial marketing, retailing, or advertising and branding.

    2. Engage and mentor students in the exploration of career opportunities and placement within the discipline.

    3. Help develop and grow the Marketing program.

    4. Provide service to the institution or community.

    5. Maintain qualifications through appropriate academic or professional engagement activities.

    6. Other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    1. Master degree required.

    2. Professional experience in marketing required.

    3. Teaching experience preferred.

    4. Ability to engage and mentor students in the exploration of career opportunities and placement within the discipline required.
