    Job Description

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The Dixie L. Leavitt School of Business at Southern Utah University seeks applicants for a Lecturer of Management. This is a full-time, non-tenure track 9-month position to start August 15, 2021. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience; excellent benefits. The Leavitt School of Business is AACSB accredited and places significant emphasis on faculty members providing an engaging learning experience for students.

    With a university focus on experiential learning and a growing MBA program, the successful candidate will provide quality learning experiences for both undergraduate and graduate students. The successful candidate will be able to teach core management courses as well as offer electives based on research or professional experience.

    The ability and desire to develop and deliver online courses, in addition to on-campus courses, will be given preference in the hiring process. In the cover letter, candidates will discuss how they will meet these expectations.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Provide excellent instruction in graduate and undergraduate courses in management. Thesecourses could include leadership, organizational behavior, strategy, and/or operations and other management-elective topics. Summer courses may be available to teach for additional compensation.
    2. Develop and teach elective courses in management topics.
    3. Engage and mentor students in alignment with the mission and vision of the university and school.
    4. Work in a team-based environment, provide service to the university and school, and interact positively with students, faculty, and staff.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • An earned MBA or master's degree in a relevant discipline.
    • Meaningful professional experience with at least three to five years in significant leadership and managerial positions (preferred).
    • Teaching expertise in various management topics as demonstrated in university or corporate settings (e.g. corporate training, public speaking, etc.). Candidates with experience teaching at the university level are preferred.
    • Candidates with experience in online education (preferred).
