We invite you to become a part of the Southwest Team! The Honors Program is seeking a student intern with a strong knowledge of digital and social media to help manage our online presence. The intern hired for this position will need to possess strong creative thinking and communication skills, be detail-oriented, work well independently and collaboratively, and have a marketing mindset. This is a 16-week paid internship that requires an 8-hour weekly commitment on the Macon campus during the Fall 2018 semester. This role will be responsible for the following: Create original social media content that reflects the style and vision of the honors program and appeals to our target audience. Connect with Southwest students and promote the Honors program using Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube, and more. Maintain a continuous presence across various social media platforms by regularly posting content, replying to comments, and returning likes and follows Increase followers and social media traffic through strategic use of hashtags and other effective digital marketing approaches Liaison with Southwest webmaster to connect social media content to the official website Position Requirements: Applicant must be a current Southwest student with a minimum 2.75 GPA. Must have valid Drivers License. Have reliable transportation, a strong work ethic, an eagerness to learn, and a willingness to take direction. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Familiarity with various social media platforms (e.g. Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat) is a must Preferred Qualifications: Graphic design experience and/or marketing experience (especially using social media platforms to gain followers). Business, Marketing, Communications, Graphic design or related majors. Involvement in Southwest student or campus activities a plus. The Salary Range for the position is: Salary is commensurate with colleges pay scale.
