Summer Boost Reading Tutors Needed The Stanford Language to Literacy Lab directed by Dr. Rebecca Silverman in the Graduate School of Education is currently seeking college students to apply to work as tutors for Summer Boost, an individualized reading tutoring program based on the Haas Center's Ravenswood Reads service-learning program. Training for tutoring will be provided and tutoring will be scheduled in person and/or online during summer school (June 20 - July 29, 2022). This role includes tutoring and gathering data for research directed by Dr. Silverman and Dr. Renee Scott (Haas Center for Public Service). The tutoring will occur as part of a research study on tutoring grades K-2 readers and parent engagement. The positions are 20 hours per week for approximately 6 weeks (June 20 - July29). The pay rate is $20/hr. Expectations: Participate in CITI research training and obtain Livescan clearance before the position starts. Attend training sessions to prepare for research and tutoring. Administer reading assessments to tutees in person or via Zoom. Commit to learning the Ravenswood Reads curriculum program. Tutor multiple children in person OR via Zoom. Attend weekly meetings with the research team. Allow observations of tutoring for documentation. ** Prior experience with children is useful, but not required. Questions? Want more information?
