  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    The Laura Fields research group is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Student Assistant to support laboratory operations related to particle detector components. This position provides hands-on experience in a research laboratory environment and is ideal for students interested in physics, engineering, research operations, or laboratory support.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist with cleaning and preparation of particle detector parts and materials
    • Perform quality control checks to ensure parts meet laboratory standards
    • Support kitting and organization of components for research activities
    • Prepare and assist with shipping laboratory parts and materials
    • Maintain an organized and safe laboratory workspace
    • Work collaboratively with members of the research team and follow laboratory procedures
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
    • Willingness to learn and follow detailed instructions
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Reliable and punctual with good communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Must be a Notre Dame student

    Additional Information

    Many job responsibilities will take place at the Reynier Laboratory located north of campus. Candidates must be able to walk to the Reynier Building as part of their regular work responsibilities.

    Schedule

    • 10–20 hours per week
    • Work hours scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
    • Availability during standard business hours is required
