  • Responsibilities

    Working with Steinhardt Academic Technology, the Student Videographer/Editor will be responsible for shooting and editing high-quality video footage in a variety of settings. The Student Videographer/Editor will work with Steinhardt faculty to film on-location, and with Academic Technology for post-production editing. Videos will be utilized in future online courses developed by Steinhardt Academic Technology. This position plays an integral role in providing video that consistently adheres to Steinhardt and client standards.

    The Student Videographer/Editor must have their own equipment (or have access to readily available equipment). This position will work a flexible schedule tailored to the needs of Steinhardt Academic Technology and faculty, and the student’s availability.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with Steinhardt Academic Technology to shoot, edit, compile, and store video
    • Determine what camera equipment is necessary for respective filming scenarios and obtain equipment
    • Transport, set up, and operate various production equipment including cameras, audio and video recorders, lighting equipment, props, and microphones for on-location filming
    • Operate and maintain proper levels and calibration of cameras, audio and video recorders, and other production equipment
    • Work with Steinhardt faculty for on-site filming
    • Collect b-roll footage as needed
    • Conduct post-production editing of videos with Adobe Premiere Pro (or other video editing software)

    EXPECTED NUMBER OF WEEKS: 12 EXPECTED NUMBER OF HOURS PER WEEK: April 1, 2019, to June 31, 2019. This work will be on an as-needed basis and can be flexible with your schedule. We anticipate 10-20 hrs/week, primarily during the hours of 9am - 5pm, and varying based on project needs. There is a possibility for appointment renewal.

  • Qualifications
    • A general understanding of video production techniques and best practices
    • Familiarity with operating video and audio equipment
    • Novice or better knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro
    • Knowledge of Adobe After Effects a plus
    • A high ability for thorough communication and project management
    • Ability to work on a team
    • Highly organized and detail oriented
    • Must be comfortable working with deadlines
