  • Responsibilities

    Work with the NICHE research team and business process improvement consultant on a portfolio of quality improvement and program evaluation data analysis projects.

    • Work with research team to create automated survey reports for individual hospital members
    • Prepare American Hospital Association (AHA) member dataset for analysis
    • Conduct a cluster analysis of current program members using the AHA database to inform a new marketing strategy
    • Conduct data quality analysis on current member database to inform CQI efforts
    • Analyze member use data to identify trends and guide program development projects
    • Prepare brief summaries/project update reports
    • Participate in team meetings to communicate progress and review issues/concerns

    Hours/Days: 15-20 hours during standard business hours (Monday-Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM)

    NICHE Program Overview. NICHE is a continuing education and professional development program housed at the NYU Meyers College of Nursing. NICHE seeks to educate nurses on best practices in care of older adults to advance age-friendly care in the nation’s hospitals and nursing homes. NICHE offers members a set of surveys designed to assess nurse competencies and the diffusion of the NICHE program model within participating organizations. We seek to hire a data analysis to assist with a set of research and program evaluation projects.

    Minimum Required Education:

    • Intermediate statistics; SPSS or other statistical program(s)
    • Mathematics for business

    Minimum Required Experience (if any):

    • Prior experience with data management and data cleaning
    • Statistical analysis of large databases

    Required Skills:

    • Proficiency with Excel
    • Experience with SPSS
    • Experience/Basic R (language for statistical programming) coding skills

    Preferred Education:

    • Business / Management/ Economics
    • Social Science
    • Statistics for social science

    Preferred Experience (if any)

    • Business process analysis –statistical process control, run charts, graphic data displays
