We are looking for an additional member of our medical team who can work with kids (2e/ADHD typically) in our modern residential environment for 6 weeks this summer providing Dr. Lew and his team additional resources to help our kids with building a meaningful skill set that is highly transferable beyond a child's experience at camp.
We are looking for those with credential or substantive experience in OT/PT, workplace readiness etc. This includes teachers, social workers and experienced souls with a heart for making a positive difference in the lives of kids.
Our staff are kid focused, kind and patient. Camp Sequoia believes that the best outcomes happen when we hire the best staff. The majority of our key leadership staff have been with the program for 5+ years. We are proximal to the Appalachian Trail and within public transit of Boston, NYC, Philly, Baltimore, and DC. With 36-hour "super-days" off, staff can enjoy a wide variety of options. Or, they can enjoy downtime in their room and smell the baking chocolate wafting through the air from the local chocolate factory. One of our staff will leave the summer with a free cruise! Could it be you? Our VERY BEST staff are invited for an end-of-season excursion to HAWAII (free travel) with the Founding Director of the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park Institute.
All staff enjoy the flexibility of copious indoor space for program areas. From air-conditioned lounges with televisions to incredible gyms, fitness center, heated indoor pool and a myriad of other facilities, including an art studio featuring skylights and a kiln, this camp experience provides a synergistic blend of traditional camp elements (from fishing to swimming to overnight trips with campfires and marshmallows), to innovative offerings such as the new STEM academy.
Camp Sequoia is an overnight summer camp for boys ages 7-17 to experience social skills success in a dynamic and nurturing environment. Served by a high energy co-ed staff, many of our campers are diagnosed with Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Located on the beautiful campus of The Perkiomen School in Pennsburg, Pennsylvania (1 hour northwest of Philadelphia) our innovative program integrates building Frustration Tolerance research as presented at the Global Gifted Conference by Camp Leadership with a innovative social skills development framework to help campers develop their social thinking skills through a FUN active, traditional camp program.
Camp Sequoia is designed for children and teenagers with ADHD and other similar diagnoses who do not need the level of support offered at special needs overnight camps yet need a different experience than a traditional overnight camp can offer. Our 2:5 staffing ratio allows our campers to have fun and grow in a safe and supportive camp experience.
