    Job Description

    The University of Notre Dame is seeking a Survey Administration Specialist to join the Institutional Research, Innovation, and Strategy (IRIS) team. This role plays a key part in supporting the University’s mission by coordinating surveys—particularly course evaluations, and institution-wide surveys—overseeing the administration process and translating data into meaningful insights for campus partners and senior leaders.

    IRIS provides strategic insight to University leadership, and our work is highly visible and impactful. After onboarding, this position offers the opportunity to work remotely up to two days per week, in accordance with University policy.

    What You’ll Do

    • Coordinate and administer surveys across the University, including course evaluations (Blue) and institutional surveys (Qualtrics)
    • Support survey design by consulting with academic and administrative partners
    • Manage survey timelines, communications, data collection, and quality control
    • Prepare, clean, analyze, and report survey and course evaluation data using SPSS, R, Python, SQL, or similar tools
    • Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations (including Tableau) for faculty and administrators
    • Support annual and ad hoc survey initiatives aligned with institutional priorities
    • Collaborate with IRIS colleagues to integrate survey data into broader analyses
    • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical data practices

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • Demonstrated experience with survey administration and reporting
    • Proven working knowledge of Qualtrics, Blue, or another comparable survey platform
    • Expertise with SPSS, R, Python, or SQL for data management and analysis
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
    • Strong commitment to confidentiality and ethical data practices
    • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-disciplinary teams on complex projects
    • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical data practices
    • Desire to change, adapt, and continuously improve the university’s survey design, administration, reporting, and analytic efforts
    • Highly developed ability to design and execute sophisticated survey research efforts utilizing appropriate methodologies
    • Tableau experience or certification (or ability to obtain within one year)

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Advanced degree with a concentration in social sciences, data analytics, or a related field
    • Demonstrated experience leading or supporting survey research projects from design through analysis and reporting
    • Familiarity with higher education data, including course evaluations and academic assessment practices
    • Knowledge of and strong interest in higher education institutions and their missions
    • Four or more years of experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
    • Serving as principal investigator on complex survey research projects, including instrument design, data collection, troubleshooting, analysis, and reporting
    • Providing consultative and advisory support to senior leaders and stakeholders within higher education settings

    Additional Information

    Salary: Up to $90,000
