An opportunity is available for dedicated professionals specializing in providing educational support to visually impaired students. This full-time role is based in Syracuse, NY, serving various districts within Onondaga County.

Qualifications:

• Valid Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification
• Experience working with students who have visual impairments
• Strong communication and consultation skills
• Ability to develop individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Knowledge of adaptive technologies and teaching methods for visually impaired students
• Flexibility to travel between multiple school locations

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct educational services to approximately 23 students with visual impairments
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to create and implement effective IEPs
• Conduct assessments to determine student needs and monitor progress
• Offer consultations to educational personnel regarding strategies for supporting students
• Plan and participate in team meetings to discuss student development and strategies
• Travel between schools in Chittenango and Liverpool.
