Temporary | Assistive Technology Specialist
Job Description
The Assistive Technology Specialist will be a key member of the Sara Bea Accessibility Services team in the Center for Student Support and Care at the University of Notre Dame. This role is responsible for assessing the individual needs of students with disabilities and making the appropriate recommendation of assistive technology devices, hardware and software to best assist the students in meeting their academic goals. Looking for a team oriented, student focused individual, this role will be a critical component to better serving the needs of our students and community.
This position will:
Provide individual assessment of students' needs and recommend the appropriate technology.
Train, support, and develop resources for students as they implement assistive technology.
Manage the contracts, agreements, and relationships with assistive technology suppliers and software companies.
Provide assistance with the conversion of material and information to alternative formats.
Develop and update assessment tools and processes used to measure the effectiveness of assistive technologies.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Rehabilitation Counseling, Education or other related field.
1-2 years experience preferably with students with disabilities and assistive technology.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
Additional Information
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00/hour
Approximately 20 hours per week
