    Job Description

    The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division is currently hiring for the position of On-Call/Temporary Cook 1 at Garbonzo’s. The UOES division leads the University’s event management, hospitality, and customer service functions while supporting student life, academic endeavors, research initiatives, athletics, alumni, and annual campus celebrations.

    Cook 1

    This entry-level Cook 1 position is an ideal opportunity for individuals passionate about food preparation, eager to learn, and looking to develop foundational cooking skills in a professional, fast-paced setting.

    • Focus on preparing scratch-made recipes for our signature sauces and toppings.
    • Work on the service line as needed, ensuring smooth and efficient meal delivery.
    • Assist with essential tasks like dishwashing and general kitchen cleanup to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
    • Successfully manage tasks and maintain pace while working independently.

    Qualifications

    • Capable of managing time effectively with minimal supervision
    • Positive and respectful attitude
    • Excellent communication and listening skills
    • Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time (up to 6 hours at a time)
    • Follow food safety procedures for handling, storing, and serving food products
    • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on occasion

    Pay Rate: $17.50/hr
