    Job Description

    The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division is currently hiring for temporary/on-call Custodial Service Associates in the North Dining Hall in our Campus Dining department. The UOES division oversees the University's event management, hospitality, and customer service functions, while also supporting student life, academic initiatives, research activities, and annual milestone celebrations.

    Custodial Service Associate

    Are you a highly motivated and meticulous individual with a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment? We are seeking a dedicated Custodial Service Associate to join our team and oversee the comprehensive upkeep of our North Dining Hall.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • General cleaning of all areas including but not limited to interior glass, entryways, and exits, vents and light fixtures exterior stairs, entries, and exits.
    • Remove snow and dispense ice melt compound around building entries and exits.
    • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, urinals, partitions, sinks, mirrors, counters, and vents.
    • Perform floor maintenance, including scrubbing, buffing, burnishing, stripping, and refinishing hard floors.
    • Clean spots and stains from carpet and upholstery.
    • Collect and remove trash and recyclable waste.
    • Deposit segregated waste streams in dumpsters and compactors.
    • Clean and maintain interior and exterior waste collection areas.
    • Lock and unlock designated doors; clean kitchen appliances (where appropriate); move furniture to facilitate cleaning; set up for events.
    • Participate in emergency and special request cleaning tasks; perform occasional ladder climbing to clean higher areas; occasionally make up beds.
    • Perform basic operator care on assigned equipment; identify and communicate required corrective maintenance.
    • Professionally communicate with staff (verbally and in writing using radios and computers); address upset situations and unplanned requests from building managers and hall staff.
    • Participate in scheduled training and meetings; stock supplies; alert security of suspicious behavior; and perform other miscellaneous assigned tasks.
    • Clean litter from exterior entrances and exits.

    Pay Rate: $17.50/hr
