Responsibilities: * Assist the Help Desk Coordinator with daily functions of the OIT Helpdesk. Troubleshoot PCs, Apple systems and various software applications via phone, chat/remote desk, walk-ins and remote desktop route calls to appropriate personnel. Use sound, independent judgment when performing duties. * Assist users with diverse computer-related and telephone issues. Use Bomgar software to remote connect/chat with users to resolve issues. Verify that all KIOSKs and Digital Signage work properly on daily basis. * Maintain required documentation. Assist at the Help Desk Update workstations with recent patches to current operating system and other applications. * Decommission nonfunctional computers and equipment to surplus. Work on special projects consisting of, but not limited to, physically mounting network and network-related equipment and preparing computers with an updated software image. Maintain inventory of network hardware and communication connections. * Perform other related duties as assigned. Education and Experience: * TAMIU student with a major in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Strong computer Knowledge, including Outlook, word, and Excel. Must possess excellent customer service and teamwork skills. * Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Ability to interact effectively and professionally with the general public. Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work, as well as attend to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and assignments and meet deadlines. Ability to resolve problems by analyzing, recommending, and implementing changes. Other Requirements: * Completed application must include a letter of interest and a list of 3-5 references. * If selected for an interview, a skills assessment will be conducted. * Temporary position, subject to funding and/or need. Proposed Salary; $10.50 hourly All positions are security-sensitive.
