Required Education and Experience: * High School diploma or any equivalent combination of training and experience * Three years experience in a medical office Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Use of standard office equipment; working knowledge of Microsoft Office software. * Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines; electronic medical records; fax filing systems; Understanding of protected health information and privacy laws * Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. * Ability to perform all tasks and job responsibilities safely without injury to self and others in compliance with A&M System and HSC guidelines. * Provide a safe environment that fosters respect, inclusion, and equality of all faculty, staff, students, and visitors. Preferred Education and Experience: * Experience in Electronic Health Records and Health information Responsibilities : * Scan all incoming documents for patient charts for each Texas A&M Physicians location to include Family Medicine, Pediatric Clinic, Internal Medicine and Behavioral Health Services; Data entry of patient information into electronic database * Complete all incoming and outgoing medical record requests for Texas A&M Physicians. Prepare medical charts for site visits for Medicare, Medicaid and Insurance company reviews. Prepare medical record documents for clinic audits. * Complete subpoenas, affidavits and insurance company requests; have documents notarized accordingly and sent to requesting parties. Generate and process billing invoices when required. * Mange medical records fax server; includes fax filing to patient chart and electronic distribution to appropriate clinic personnel and/or physicians * Answers medical records phone line; assists patients in completing release of information forms; Assists medical offices in obtaining releases.
