Required Education and Experience: * High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. * One year of experience in vehicle maintenance repair or completion of an automotive or diesel trade school. Required Licenses and Certifications: * Valid vehicle operators license and good driving record. Must be able to obtain State of Texas class B vehicle operators license (Commercial Drivers License with passenger endorsement and air brakes endorsement) within 45 days of employment. * Must be able to obtain Texas State Inspections license within 60 days of employment. Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose vehicle and equipment problems. * Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. * Ability to utilize maintenance software, shop tools, and equipment. Other Requirements or Other Factors * Work Hours: Monday Friday 2:00pm-10:30pm. * Hours are subject to change between University semesters and class breaks. * Will be required to work Saturday home football games as needed. Preferred Education and Experience: * Some vocational training in related field. * Significant working knowledge engine and drivetrain components. General understanding of automotive maintenance and repair. Rate of Pay: $11.50-14.77 Responsibilities: * Performs semi-skilled maintenance on gasoline and diesel vehicles and equipment, including lubrication and oil changes. Replaces parts (ex. exhaust systems, batteries, belts, hoses, etc.). Repairs and replaces tires. * Assists by driving a DOT regulated vehicle in test driving, recovery of disabled vehicles, delivery of vehicles, etc. * Performs preventative maintenance inspections.
