Includes re-shelving and basic preservation techniques. Provides reference assistance for Special Collections. Assists in developing Special Collections' exhibits. At times may assist with University Archives. Supervises student assistant(s). Must be detail oriented and be able to multi task, take initiative and prioritize. Job Performed: * Provides reference assistance to library patrons and staff in locating and retrieving materials in Special Collections. * While assisting patrons, applies discretion and integrity in guarding patron's rights. * Processes and maintains collections in the Special Collections. * Creates spreadsheets and forms relating to Special Collections. * Assists with preparation of exhibits in Frank M. Blackburn Room, the Texas Poets' Corner, and online exhibits. * Performs basic preservation techniques: basic book repair, minor mending of paper, basic cleaning of materials in Special Collections. * Supervises student assistant(s) working with Special Collections. * Maintains and designs web pages for Special Collections.

    • Scans materials on Kic Scanner for patrons, preservation use copy, and/or online exhibits. * At times may assist with University Archives.

Necessary Qualifications: * High school diploma or GED. * One year of related library experience. * Knowledge of word processing, and spreadsheet application. * Knowledge of email and library online research databases.
