The museums 2009 addition, the Modern Wing, features the latest in green museum technology and 264,000 square feet dedicated to modern and contemporary art, photography, architecture and design, and new museum education facilities. In addition to displaying its permanent collection, the Art Institute mounts more than 30 special exhibitions per year and features lectures, gallery tours, and special performances on a daily basis - Position Summary - The Sustaining Fellows Coordinator will assist in initiatives to increase and retain individual donors for unrestricted support. Additionally, the Coordinator will assist in supporting the logistics and communications for cultivation and stewardship including meetings, events, programs and travel for the Sustaining Fellows. Individual Giving & PRogram Managment - Assist in the renewal and acquisition of Sustaining Fellows, donors who provide $2,500+ in unrestricted museum support. Working with the Director of Sustaining Fellows, prepare renewal and acquisition mailings, including the customization of individual solicitation letters, proposals, and stewardship packets. The Coordinator will also serve as a key contact for external vendors for the Sustaining Fellows direct mail and telefund programs. - Responsible for processing gifts for the Sustaining Fellows team as needed and creating timely acknowledgments, coordinating closely with the Development Operations department and other Development staff. - Assist with the implementation of Sustaining Fellows programs, including curatorial luncheons, exhibition previews, and other events. - Assist the Director of Sustaining Fellows and Officers in prep, written communications and meeting prep for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. - Provide concierge service for Sustaining Fellows, including assisting with private tours and events. - Other duties and special projects as assigned. Communications - Prepare communications for Sustaining Fellows correspondence, direct mail, email, invitations, and other marketing materials. - Manage updates and content for the Sustaining Fellows pages on the institutional website. - Coordinate the list of unrestricted donors for the museums annual report. REPORTING - Assist Director of Sustaining Fellows in maintaining key reports of fundraising progress and analysis - Qualifications - Bachelors degree preferred. - Minimum two years progressive experience in non-profit development or transferable experience from corporate sales/business sector. - Experience in stewardship and relationship cultivation of high-end VIP donors/clients. - Experience working within complex, multi-layered organizations suggested. - Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work quickly and effectively with senior leaders of the organization, high-level donors, staff, and volunteers. - Availability to participate in occasional evening events and donor activities. - Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new software required. Word, Excel required.
