Global Diving & Salvage, Inc. is the largest diving contractor on the West Coast, based out of Seattle, WA, a leading provider of marine construction and infrastructure support services in the United States, and an internationally recognized casualty responder.
We are currently seeking a Dive Operations Manager to join our team in Northern California. This position is responsible for planning and executing Northern California diving projects in a safe and efficient manner, overseeing Northern California dive personnel, preparing bids and RFPs, and for building and maintaining successful client relationships.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Plan, schedule and manage all diving projects within the Northern California area of the California region
Provide logistics and dispatch of diving personnel and dive gear as needed for projects
Execute projects in a manner that satisfies client needs and legal requirements, including but not limited to ADCI regulations, IMCA provisions and state and federal laws pertaining to commercial diving
Coordinate dive equipment including associated maintenance and certification with the Equipment & Facilities Coordinator and Asset Manager
Ensure timely and accurate submission of Dailies, Diaries, Dive logs, reports and video files from field crew
Coordinate with Dive Operations Managers in Southern California and in other regions as needed for personnel needs
Coordinate with Service Line VP’s for personnel as needed for various projects
Provide quarterly reporting to the CA General Manager on project safety and profitability
Supervise the dive staff, assign work activities, set goals, monitor performance and evaluate results
Visit project sites on a regular basis to ensure quality control and safe diving practices
Review timecards and submit them on a timely basis to payroll
Review diver/tender job applicants and select personnel for hire
Maintain adequate staffing levels to ensure the availability of qualified personnel required to execute workload (both on-call work and major projects)
Monitor certifications of divers, follow up as needed and dispatch only those with current certifications required to perform assigned work
Attend pre-bid meetings and job walks and prepare responsible bids and requests for proposal
Assist service lines and other regions with proposals and job estimates as needed
Write reports, including dive operations plans, correspondence and client videos
Maintain report of projects in bidding process
Identify and develop opportunities to market services to both new and existing customers
Develop contacts with existing customers and maintain successful business relationships
Prior to mobilization of crews, communicate with all necessary internal stakeholders to ensure groups are kept adequately informed
Ensure safe diving operations and participate in the Safety Committee
Manage Classed Society in-water inspection programs (ABS, DNV, GL, Lloyds, etc)
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent required
College degree preferred
Commercial Dive Training, ADCI Certification required
EXPERIENCE
10 + years experience in a commercial diving role preferred
5+ years management or supervisory experience preferred
Previous experience in logistics preferred
Previous experience in construction industry preferred
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work cooperatively with internal stakeholders and external clients
Intermediate Microsoft Suite skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Excellent customer service skills
Must demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness
Excellent interpersonal and ability to work effectively in a team environment
Must be able to travel to project sites as needed, including the ability to travel out of town for short periods of time
Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, presentations, and proposals
Existing knowledge of region with developed relationships in the maritime industry
Current working knowledge of standard dive practices and recognized trade association regulations (ADCI, IMCA)
Current knowledge of Federal/State regulations pertaining to construction and commercial diving
Familiarization with blueprint reading and ship drawings
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced, fluid environment
Understanding of project management, cost estimating, cost control, operations and workforce forecasting

Live in North/Middle Caicos and able to make own transport to sandy point not rely on schedule bus due to working hours.
