MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN APPRENTICESHIP OPPORTUNITY!

SCOPE:  The Maintenance Technician performs maintenance related tasks as required to ensure the safe and reliable operation of electrical and mechanical equipment. Normal work hours will involve occasional overtime, back shift, weekend and holiday coverage as necessary. 

This ICL facility coats fertilizer to control the release of the nutrients. There are 3 coating production lines and one bagging/palletizing line. This opening would be on dayshift 0600-1430 and would work under supervision of the Maintenance Lead and Plant Engineer on a daily basis.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Perform repair of mechanical equipment including rotating drums, bucket elevators, belt conveyors, bagging and palatalizing equipment, etc.
• Use technical manuals, blue prints, and engineering sketches as required.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Responsible for performing and documenting preventive maintenance on production machinery.
• Responsible for keeping equipment in top condition for safe and efficient production results.
• Will need to operate machines from time to time for both troubleshooting and to supplement production requirements during busy periods.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Experience in industrial maintenance preferred
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Continued participation in the Industrial Mechanic program with Trident Technical College.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to move 50 lbs.
