    #97171 Information Services/Epic Amb Trainer - DESCRIPTION The Information Services/Epic Ambulatory Trainer plays an important role in educating and preparing providers and clinical staff at UC San Diego Health that make use of the Epic EMR. As part of the Information Services Training Team, incumbent will be primarily responsible for a learning and efficiency program for Ambulatory Physicians. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Perform site visits in clinic areas, shadowing end user workflows for learning and observation. - Create, maintain and deliver individualized learning plans, special curriculum and supporting training materials. - Provide 1:1 instruction and group lessons in person and/or via virtual platforms as appropriate. - Run and analyze efficiency reports and user assessments to customize training and provide user feedback. - Master knowledge of Epic functionality and workflows of target audience groups. - Work closely with CMIOs to analyze learner needs and implement learning solutions. - Work closely with application training and build analysts to ensure proper understanding and communication related to class curriculum, system changes and best practices. - Provide feedback from classroom and on-site visits to help optimize system and users understanding of the same. - Conduct self as a positive spokesperson and face of the IS team at all times and take responsibility for end user learning and satisfaction with IS services. - Create and maintain classroom rosters using the Learning Management System and assist users with LMS activities as necessary. - Follow standard training procedures and curriculum to ensure high quality and consistent learning experience for end users. - Assist with creation of learning materials for end users including tip-sheets, handouts, e-learning, quick-start guides etc. as necessary. - Perform other training and communication related duties as necessary. Note that this position requires frequent travel to various clinics within the UC San Diego Health System. - MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area, and / or equivalent combination of experience / training. - Incumbent will be required to be certified in an assigned EMR vendor's product/module within the first 6 months of employment. - Incumbent must satisfy all vendor testing requirements to be certified without needing to attend vendor's training a second time for the same class. - Three (3) or more years of relevant experience. - Demonstrated ability to provide expert consultative guidance and direction on change initiatives affecting clinical care processes. - Demonstrated ability in workflow and data analysis and design techniques, including needs assessment, specification development, quantitative methods, planning and gap analysis. - Ability to effectively utilize system tools to meet functionality needs of users. - Ability to plan and organize day-to-day activities along with short and long-term projects; in-depth knowledge of organizational and project planning processes and ability to produce and maintain high quality planning documents. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal skills. - Experience and proven success in information systems implementation, development and support within a large-scale healthcare organization. - PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - EPIC Certification. - Demonstrated experience as a major participant in a clinical system implementation. - SPECIAL CONDITIONS - Frequent travel to various clinics within the UC San Diego Health System (75% of time). - Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs. - Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical. - Applications/Resumes are accepted for current job openings only.
