#96463 Cardiac Rehab Exercise Physiologist - DESCRIPTION The Cardiovascular Rehabilitation and Wellness Center at UC San Diego Health will offer state of the art programs designed to help patients with heart disease recover faster and lead healthier lives. Located on the first floor of the Jacobs Medical Center, the brand new Center will offer medically supervised exercise; food and nutrition education, including cooking classes in our teaching kitchen and stress management and emotional support. Join our team of multi-disciplinary professionals who are dedicated to help our patients develop a successful heart-healthy plan in a safe and supportive environment. Under supervision, the Cardiac Rehab Exercise Physiologist is responsible for the day-to-day operation of cardiac rehab programs. This includes monitoring cardiac rehab patients; conducts exercise class sessions as needed. Participates in total program implementation, development, and other activities as directed. - MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. - Minimum of three (3) years of previous experience as an Exercise Physiologist in an acute care/hospital setting. - Understanding and ability to apply exercise principles for variety of adult patient populations. - Ability to perform exercise testing parameters such as body fat, heart rate, and blood pressure. - PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - A Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or related field. - Exercise Physiologist certification. - Demonstrated cardiac rehab experience. - SPECIAL CONDITIONS Must be able to take call, work other shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays at the need of the department. - UC San Diego Health is the only academic health system in the San Diego region, providing leading-edge care in patient care, biomedical research, education, and community service.
