#97313 Speech Pathologist-Per Diem - DESCRIPTION Responsible for speech therapy patient service delivery including evaluation and treatment of routine and complex patients. Responsibilities include evaluating inpatients and outpatients with speech, language/cognitive, swallowing or voice disorders, completing appropriate documentation/reports and developing and implementing appropriate treatment goals. Performs services that may include modified barium swallow studies. Performs other related duties. Completes required documentation and communicates patient information across the continuum of care. Participates in training and program development and represents the department to the medical and general community. - MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an educational institution approved by the Board of Speech-Language Pathology. - Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license issued by the state of California. - BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART w/in 6 months of hire date. - Up to two years of experience as a licensed speech pathologist. - Certificate of clinical competence in speech pathology awarded by the American Speech and Hearing Association. - SPECIAL CONDITIONS - Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs. - Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical. - UC San Diego Health is the only academic health system in the San Diego region, providing leading-edge care in patient care, biomedical research, education, and community service.
