    #97311 Patient Service Representative- Rancho Bernardo - DESCRIPTION Under direction of the Service Center Supervisor, the Service Center Specialist is responsible for appointment scheduling, insurance verification, assisting with online registrations, and securing authorization for scheduled services. Provides coverage for front desk or authorization staff as required. Provides support and communication for patients, monitoring timeliness of providers. Participates in numerous open forums including Key User Meetings, Service Center Team Meetings, and others as assigned. - MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Two years of related administrative support experience in a hospital setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Knowledge of Insurance payors, including federal, state, and private health plans. - Ability to multitask and manage multiple lines and issues at once, while maintaining a positive attitude and excellent customer service. - Experience with high volume, multi-line telephone calls. - Superb customer service presence. - Proficient with MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel. - PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience in hospital based or medical group clinics. - Knowledge of or degree in Public Health or related field. - Medical terminology training and/or certificate. - Experience with PCIS, IDX, EPIC. - Bilingual English/Spanish. - Ability to prioritize and process therapy referrals based on diagnosis. - Experience with patient relations, concierge program, and/or patient population. - Familiar with UCSD Health policies and procedures. - SPECIAL CONDITIONS - Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs. - Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical. - UC San Diego Health is the only academic health system in the San Diego region, providing leading-edge care in patient care, biomedical research, education, and community service.
