    Taylor University is seeking applications of candidates for DATA SYSTEMS ANALYST / DEVELOPER.  This is a FULL-TIME, 12 MONTH, EXEMPT position located in Upland, Indiana.  Resumes will be accepted until position is filled.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:     

    As a member of the Enterprise Data Systems (EDS) team, the Data Systems Analyst / Developer builds and supports the university data environment that facilitates business intelligence and data analytics. This primary responsibility is to collaborate with the Data Warehouse Architect and assist in building and supporting the university data environment, which facilitates BI and data analytics.  Key components of this function include the development, deployment, configuration, customization, maintenance, support, access, and monitoring of Taylor University’s Data Warehouse and Operational Data Store (ODS).

      

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Build back-end SQL infrastructure to support university business intelligence and data analytics
    • Develop, validate and maintain Data Warehouse objects (tables, views, stored procedures and functions) that facilitate reporting for InfoApps and predictive analytics projects.
    • Analyze, develop, test, and deploy enterprise datamarts, enhancements, and integration components.
    • Participate in a collaborative team environment, working closely with other group team members in the design and development of data warehouse components.
    • Interact with customers in all phases of the data warehouse life-cycle.
    • Assist team members and customers in solving problems and resolving anomalies associated with in-house developed applications.
    • Assist the Enterprise Data Systems team with system maintenance and upgrades.
    • Provide support for in-house data warehouse training.
    • Maintain and develop knowledge of current technologies related to warehouse methodologies.
    • Respond to after-hour situations involving systems requiring urgent or immediate resolution.
    • React productively to change and perform other duties as assigned.

     REQUIRED SKILLS

    • SQL, computer programming, relational database systems and report writing
    • Team-oriented, yet able to work independently.
    • Excellent problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    • Preferred 2 years experience as a database administrator or data analyst.
    • Experience in SQL development is required.
    • Data Warehousing experience and proficiency in ETL is a plus

     

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:  

    • Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in computer science or a related field.
