    • $15 an hour - Part-time, Temporary, Internship Visit California is looking to hire a Digital Design Intern. The Digital Design Intern supports the Creative Services team in the management and design of digital assets as well as provides administrative and other design support when required. Projects include overseeing workflow of website assets, responding to requests for new digital creative needs and creating support print materials. Conditions of Employment This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause. Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00am 5:00pm. Additional Work Schedule Student Assistant and Graduate Assistant employees generally work up to 20 hours per work week (Sunday Saturday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per work week during breaks; Winter, Spring & Summer. Student Assistants are not permitted to telecommute or work remotely. To learn more please visit www.visitcalifornia.com Majors/Fields of Study Communication Studies, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science and Engineering, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Marketing, Recreation, Parks and Tourism Administration Minimum Qualifications Essential Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following qualifications: * Experience using Macintosh operating systems. * Understanding/knowledge of database storage systems, content management systems, archiving and metadata. * Intermediate level proficiency of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat Pro. * Intermediate level proficiency Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Outlook. * Working knowledge of Internet Explorer and/or other Internet browsers such as Safari, Google Chrome and Firefox as well as the ability to use the Internet to do light research. * Ability to multi-task while managing multiple projects and daily tasks as the Creative Development Manager assigns them. * Ability to take direction and follow through on time. * Strong organizational skills. * Communicate and work well with others in a professional office environment. Prerequisites Must be a college student attending classes during the regular term (Fall, Spring and Winter, if applicable), at one and accredited college or university. Students must be enrolled at a minimum in; six semester units or nine quarter units for undergraduate students; four semester units or six quarter units for graduate students.     • Previous experience and competency with Intranet systems a plus. * Prepress and print production knowledge a plus. Duties and Responsibilities Position Summary: The Digital Design Intern supports the Creative Services team in the management and design of digital assets as well as provides administrative and other design support when required. Projects include overseeing workflow of website assets, responding to requests for new digital creative needs and creating support print materials. Types of projects include, but are not limited to, monitoring asset library metadata, creating web icons and graphics, adjusting and creating assets to fit standards across multiple industry sites, creating interactive pdfs with hyperlinks, creating digital ads, creating slides for PowerPoint presentations that include graphics and animations, creating social media infographics, and creating various event and media collateral pieces. The intern will be required to learn and follow Visit California Brand Guidelines for all artwork, and work closely with Creative Development Manager for all creative/branding/design. Main Priority: Digital Design & Administrative Support Support the Creative Services team in the management of the digital asset library and creation and execution of web design projects, using the web-based Project Ticketing System on SharePoint 2007 and Sitecore CMS to manage the progress of each project assigned and ensure final artwork goes through internal approval system. Support Creative Development Manager by archiving all final artwork and work-in-progress, with proper nomenclature, on internal server and Share when warranted. Will be required to learn brand standards. Physical Requirements Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, scanners, and fax machines, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
