Position Information Posting Number S1500192 Job Title Library Assistant III/Resource Sharing & Collection Services Position Number O02654 Division Academic Affairs/Provost - ACA Department Carmichael Library FLSA Non-Exempt Salary Grade 105 Salary Classification Classified Annual Salary Range Hourly Salary Range $9.62 per hour - $12.75 per hour Employment Status Full Time 12 Mos Regular General Description The purpose of this position is to manage the operations of the Interlibrary Loan service, to provide document delivery and resource sharing services, and to assist library faculty in collection management projects, including digitization, weeding, and off-site storage. Essential Job Duties 1. Perform interlibrary loan lending and borrowing functions by searching, interpreting, and verifying bibliographic records and interlibrary loan records in an electronically networked environment. 2. Manage distribution and retrieval of borrowed and loaned resources; handle student, faculty and staff interlibrary loan accounts. 3. Use a variety of software to provide rapid electronic delivery to University students, faculty, and staff by manipulating, digitizing, and reformatting library materials. 4. Ensure that every transaction complies with copyright law through the use and management of specialized software. 5. Assist in identifying and providing access to open access materials, including Open Educational Resources. 6. Manage off-site storage of library and archival materials and assist in weeding projects. 7. Scan documents, photographs, and ephemera for conversion to electronic files. 8. Assist in creation of library guides for interlibrary loan and digital collections. 9. Participate in reference service as needed.
