Position Summary Reporting to the Director of Career Service, the Coordinator for DXC Recruiting and Internships will serve 50% of their time in a recruiting role dedicated to our partnership with DXC Technology and 50% as an Internship Manager. This position will work closely with DXC Technology recruiters to manage sourcing, interviewing and employment processes. This position will manage DXC recruitment to ensure they hire qualified employees to meet the companys current and future needs and will work closely with DXC recruiters. This position will also manage UNO student internships with employers and work collaboratively with all colleges on campus to match qualified students with internships. This position will conduct in-progress assessments of student success in the work environment, and evaluate the total work experience, primarily with surveys and follow-up interviews with both students and employers. The Coordinator will network with and engage employers and existing partners in the campus community in order to increase experiential learning opportunities for students. This position will advise students on various aspects of entering the workforce, including professional presentation/portfolio including an effective resume, successful interviewing skills and networking with employers. This is a goal-centric position with the focus on producing the number of qualified candidates that the institution has committed to providing in their agreement with Louisiana Economic Development. The ideal candidate is a team leader who can make effective decisions quickly and be successful in growing internship placements and expanding partnerships. Responsibilities DXC Technology Partnership Responsible for generating qualified leads and funneling leads to DXC Actively seek out qualified candidates for DXC Work independently on campus with DXC state-wide recruiting team Work to fulfill the goal of producing a pipeline of qualified candidates for DXC Track and evaluate all leads Screen leads for requirements as specified by DXC Work with project managers to develop appropriate curriculum changes and/or training programs Responsible for success of their campus teams achievement of goals, but also aiding in achieving state-wide goals Internship Management Provide leadership in the development and implementation of a viable internship program Facilitate student learning by assisting students in securing appropriate internships to enhance overall academic experience and learn skills essential to conduct a successful job search Initiate and build partnerships with employers to develop student opportunities for experiential endeavors locally, statewide, nationally and internationally. Identify, develop and monitor current internship sites Assist students by conducting resume/cover letter critiques and job-search strategies and providing guidance regarding application procedures Work collaboratively with faculty and administration to create policy and procedures for ensuring the academic quality and integrity of internships Work alongside faculty and academic departments to identify and promote internships for placement in specific majors Provide optimal marketing strategies to connect students to experiential endeavors and jobs Assist department in coordinating career events to include such activities as an internship/part-time job expo, volunteer service fair, and related experiential learning events Develop policies and procedures for internships Provide leadership and direction in the areas of individual assessment, educational choices, career-planning and development and employment strategies for students Plan and conduct internship workshops and information programs Develop an internship manual and promotional material and updates as needed Research appropriate websites and resources to support the program Assess the effectiveness of internship programs Network and engage employers to promote and expand internship opportunities for students Maintain database administration for purposes of tracking Counsel and advise students regarding employment opportunities through various employers Conduct site visits to include campus, local, and regional employers to maintain relations as well as further expand experiential learning opportunities, promoting out-of-the-classroom experience and learning activity related to students' academic studies and career direction. Participate in area business, not-for-profit associations, chamber of commerce activities, etc., with emphasis on relationship development. Participate in staff activities/meetings, an annual performance evaluation, and professional development activities including involvement in state, regional, and national associations Required Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree * Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in recruiting and internship management or similar position * Experience with applicant tracking systems and HR databases * Knowledge of recruiting methods, tracking, and usage * Experience in marketing and recruiting using social media and leveraging professional networks * Excellent verbal and written communication and ability to work as part of a team Desired Qualifications * Experience with Handshake software * Intermediate to advanced skills in operating MS Excel, using pivot tables, charts and formulas * Major or advanced coursework and/or experience working in business and/or computer science * 1-2 years of experience with various methods of candidate sourcing, screening, and evaluation * 1-2 years of experience in networking and building professional relationships/ partnerships with businesses/employers Closing Date Position will remain open until filled.
