General Description / Primary Purpose Under the direction of an Assistant Director or higher, works with UNF Faculty, Chairs, Colleges, Deans and the Division of Student and International Affairs to assist in the development of international programs/projects and study abroad. Essential Duties Job Function Assist in the development of international programs/projects, including Regional Councils, International Council, Peace Corps Prep, and Fulbright Committee. Assist with new international activities as might be desired, under the direction of an Assistant Director or higher. Develop and expand opportunities for individual students to study abroad. Develop materials for general and specific activities abroad. Recruit students for exchange programs abroad. Develop print materials to promote exchange programs. Advise students on education abroad options. Manage student information/applications for study abroad. Present student safety sessions, information sessions on study abroad opportunities and funding/scholarship options. Coordinate with Enrollment Services, academic Advisors, Financial Aid and the Registrars office to ensure overseas site/school approvals, course equivalences, transfer credits, and scholarship processing. Assist students in obtaining passports, determine visa needs, and submit documentation as needed for international activities. Process insurance for students; maintain student information packets, waivers, passport copies, etc. Participate and present in on campus venues to promote study abroad, such as Open Houses, student groups, classroom invitations, etc. Assist in developing and organizing events to promote study abroad such as the Study Abroad Fair, Alumni Social, etc. Assist in writing reports on study abroad and student mobility numbers and activities as needed. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited college or university and one year of appropriate work experience. Faculty Position Required Qualifications Departmental Requirements Preference given to applicants who meet the required qualifications and also possess the following: Experience in international travel such as study abroad, or living and working abroad. Strong presentation skills and experience . Experience in working with people from different cultures and diverse backgrounds. Experience in creating marketing materials, handouts, brochures/flyers. Strong writing and analytical skills. Statement(s) of Understanding Definition This position requires a level II background check, which includes fingerprinting. In conjunction with the Universitys policy, this position may also require a credit check. This position has been designated as a Campus Security Authority ( CSA ). This position has been designated as a CSA because it involves significant responsibility for student and campus activities and/or responsibility for campus security. As such, any person in this position must report to the University Police Department a crime or an incident that might be a crime that he/she becomes aware of. This position has a reporting requirement because the University believes that responsibility for students, campus activities and/or campus security will make the holder of this position someone members of the University community will see as an authority figure and someone to whom they can seek help. A CSA is not expected to investigate or determine whether a criminal incident actually took place. A CSAs responsibility is a duty to report. All positions designated as CSAs are required to complete an online or in-person training session.
