    Position Information Position Information Date Posted 10/08/2018 Working Title Fiscal and Grants Administrator Job Classification Administrator III Department Name 35215-Med-Orthopedic Surgery Job Type Staff Position Number 0127367 Posting Number S0000397 Hiring Range TBD based on qualifications Position Description The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Fiscal and Grants Administrator to serve in an administrative/professional capacity reporting to the Director of Administrative and Financial Services in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. A major focus of this position will be on post-award administration along with budget formulation and pre and post-award management. The incumbent is responsible for managing all aspects of Post-Award grant and contract administration, including financial management of sponsored accounts within the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. The incumbent must be knowledgeable about federal grants: especially NIH and DOD . The candidate will also be responsible for some human resource functions such as facilitating the hiring of students and may also need to fill-out paperwork for other research-related positions. As such, this candidate will be expected to interface with various levels of within or outside the University, including Deans, Directors and Department Heads. The candidate will also provide administrative support for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for solving problems and addressing unique situations, preparing complex reports, analyses and proposals. The optimal candidate for this position will have previous administrative experience in an academic unit, experience with NIH and other funding agencies standards, procedures, and budgetary practices, and experience with submission of external funding applications. It would also be beneficial if the candidate has prior experience in working with administrative units at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine.
