Career Services Intern Job Description The University of Pittsburgh School of Computing and Information is seeking a Career Services Intern to provide assistance in administrative tasks related to experiential learning. The Career Services Intern will be responsible for providing assistance in the administrative duties for co-op, internships, graduate practica, alternative break, and other programming that encompass the student experiential learning experience at SCI. Responsibilities The position requires 15 hours of work per week for the duration of the fall and spring semester in the 2017-18 academic year, with the possibility of extending the position into the summer semester of the 2018-2019 academic year. The Career Services Intern will be expected to assist the Director of Experiential Learning in: 1. Planning events 2. Providing resume/career prep for students 3. Administrative tasks pertaining to credit-bearing and non-credit bearing experiential learning classes and activities 4. Managing and maintaining a job board and database 5. Other duties as assigned Job Requirements Job Requirements Students applying for this internship should be a graduate student with a passion for and understanding of career services Ability to prioritize effectively and solve problems Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and counseling skills Highly self-motivated and enthusiastic Positive attitude with the capability to work individually and as a member of a team Ability to work with minimal supervision Willingness to share in the routine tasks related to the office operation, to take on additional duties as assigned by professional staff, and the ability to work outside of normal business hours, as needed Capacity to meet tight deadlines Applicants must submit a resume, cover letter Child Protection Clearances The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
