If you are an experienced Chemistry teacher dedicated to doing whatever it takes to ensure that all students get the education they need to succeed in college and career, we would love to meet you. * Earth Science - Regents Level Duties * Develop effective, standards-aligned lessons that support student learning and achievement of school academic objectives and benchmarks * Assess student learning on continual basis and identify areas of intervention if needed, such as conceptual difficulties in the content area * Collaborate with special education teachers to design and execute individualized instructional plans for students with special needs to ensure they achieve academically at a high level * Maintain accurate and complete records as required * Manage the classroom and individual student behavior to maintain an advantageous learning environment, reinforcing clear expectations and routines * Develop professional goals and objectives in collaboration with colleagues and the administration that will monitor progress and assess effectiveness in enhancing student achievement * Maintain regular and open communication with families by providing regular written updates on student progress and creating opportunities for family participation, inclusion, and collaboration * Utilize technology to promote and share student achievement and to communicate with students, colleagues, and families * Enforce all school policies regarding discipline and determining necessary management strategies within their own classrooms Benefits * Compensation for this position is competitive, with our salary schedule at approximately 10% above that of the NYC DOE. In addition to teachers' salaries, paid opportunities outside of the classroom are available (i.e. stipends for clubs or Zero Period).
