Coordinator, Clinical Placement (Phoenix, AZ) Bookmark this Posting | Print Preview | Apply for this Job Position Details Position Information Title Coordinator, Clinical Placement (Phoenix, AZ) Department College of Nursing (3301) Location Greater Phoenix Area Position Summary The Clinical Placement Coordinator serves as a strong role model in professional nursing practice and supports the mission and vision of the CON and expanding Phoenix area Entry-level nursing programs ( PHX MEPN and hybrid BSN -IH). The coordinator is responsible for assisting the program leadership in planning, organizing, maintaining and facilitating educational experiences in clinical facilities, which support clinical learning objectives and program outcomes as well as business development efforts. The Clinical Placement Coordinator is responsible for establishing, cultivating and continuously building relationships with clinical affiliates to ensure adequate capacity for quality clinical education. The Coordinator requests and secures clinical site placements in collaboration with course chairs, as well as program and site coordinators. Assisting with preferred partnerships is also key to advance the clinical education and research functions of the CON . The Coordinator must maximize technology to identify, devise, and implement the most efficient and effective methods of processing required clinical clearance paperwork [not limited to: clinical requests, upkeep on student files and clinical requirements, clinical schedules, and related correspondence]. This position also serves as coordinator for clinical affiliation agreements and requires initiation, coordination and organization of agreements while collaborating with clinical facilities, faculty and legal department(s). The Coordinator may also assist faculty-teaching responsibilities as available and requested. The Coordinator will also provide back-up assistance to campus room scheduling and work orders (ordering badges, room, any campus services). The Coordinator will reports in a straight line (direct reporting) to the General Nursing and Health Education Division Chair and a dotted line to the MEPN Coordinator, MEPN Phoenix Site Coordinator, and BSN -IH Program Coordinator. Duties & Responsibilities Clinical Consortium Relationships Conduct site visits to recruit new placement sites in collaboration with co-chairs and coordinators. Identify, establish, and maintain positive relationships with new and existing clinical agencies, area health providers, and the community. Assist with developing innovative partnerships with area health systems to meet shared goals. Attend consortium meetings and affiliate events to represent the CON and liaison between consortium, clinical agencies and College of Nursing faculty and administration. Participate in networking activities to build relations with healthcare facilities and related professional associations such as orientation activities, community professional meetings and/or recruitment/job fairs. Identify and relay any concerns related to clinical experiences to CON leadership to facilitate prompt resolution. Provide conflict resolution in situations where there are discrepancies between the goals/objectives of the clinical placement site and the College of Nursing. Data Management Complete and submit required paperwork for affiliation agreements. Meet with facility leaders to identify parent company and/or person with signature authority for affiliation agreements. Stay appraised of health system changes in Maricopa County so that contracts can be updated as facility names change and/or as mergers occur. Act as liaison with CastleBranch regarding updating clinical requirements and troubleshoot issues. Provide clinical facility information updates to students and faculty. Identify the number of clinical placements needed each semester for each program and clinical area in accordance with the curriculum and expected enrollment. Enter and revise placement requests in program online calendar(s) for efficient communications. Develop and implement policies and plans related to clinical placements and timelines for coordinators and course chairs. Direct process for submitting required reports to all affiliating clinical agencies. Minimum Qualifications Current unencumbered Arizona RN license. Bachelors Degree in nursing or related field. 3 years of RN experience. 3 years of nursing faculty experience in higher education (professional and graduate work included). Computer proficiency in internet applications and Office Suite Productivity products (such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in Maricopa Clinical Collaboration System Familiarity with Castle Branch and My Clinical Exchange Previous experience in similar role Customer service experience Strong organizational and time-management skills.
