    Job Description

    The School of Medicine and the Department of Health Management and Informatics are pleased to announce openings for Telephone Interviewers (No telemarketing or sales) for both bilingual and non for the following position:

    Job Duties will include:

    • Contact the general public by phone or other means of data collection to conduct interviews using computer assisted telephone interviewing (CATi) software for a variety of social projects.
    • Follow appropriate procedures of data collection during interviewing process. Use effective tactics to try to convert possible refusals to completion of interviews.
    • Maintain professional behavior interviewing people from all walks of life. Carefully follow the rules of conducting an unbiased interview and make sure no personal opinion during the interviewing process shall be shared with prospective respondents.
    • Accurately document all outcomes of a telephone attempt to help management to record operational statistics including number of completed interviews, refusals, and callbacks.
    • Assist in pre-testing new survey projects by reviewing the survey questionnaire and providing feedback for fine tuning the design of the study. Provide training to fellow interviewers.
    • Assist in data entry of completed interviews whenever needed.

    The Health and Behavioral Risk Research Center is looking for interviewing staff who want to make a positive impact and a difference in the health and well being of mothers and their infants. We are conducting interviews to gain knowledge and a better understanding of health related activities, practices, and the levels of access and barriers to heath care for moms and their infants. Our interviewers conduct activities that are vital to this study and to making a positive impact on the lives and moms and their infants.
