  • Responsibilities

    LEAD WAREHOUSE CARGO AGENT - PHOENIX Safe and efficient aircraft operations through direction, coordination, observation, and hands-on assistance with each aircraft handling operation.  Ensures all duties performed by assigned personnel are completed in the most efficient and professional manner including, but not limited to:  Loading and unloading of aircraft, vehicles and freight/mail containers (ULDs/APCs, etc.).  Build-up, break-down, and sort of freight, mail, and baggage, as applicable.   Safe and proper acceptance, handling and transfer of freight, mail and baggage, as applicable. Ensure and verify security and integrity of all freight, mail and baggage, as applicable.  Ensure proper marshalling signals for aircraft and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) operations, as directed.  Ensure proper two-way communications in English, using ground-to-ground and air-to-ground radios and telephones, as applicable. 

    Required Skills

    Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance.

     Ability to drive all cargo handling equipment.

     Ability to handle the stress of a fast-paced eight hour shift.

     Attend all meetings and complete all training and certification, as required by WFS, customer, airport, and all applicable government agencies.

     Adhere to all airport and facility regulations regarding proper security and identification procedures, including correct escort and security identification badge/challenge responsibilities. 

     

    Comply with all safety regulations, methods, and procedures required by WFS, customers, airport, and all applicable government agencies. 

     

    Reports to work on a regular and timely basis, “No Call – No Show” and arriving after scheduled time will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.  All exceptions must be approved and documented by Supervisor.  Availability to work all shifts, including, but not limited to, mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    Required Experience

    Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or GED required. Possess and maintain valid driver’s license for the state in which the employee works.   Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends (i.e. Friday, Saturday and Sunday), holidays, and days off. Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.
