     We are looking for a skilled and self-motivated ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER to join our Corporate Engineering team located in Roanoke VA. This position will lead Titan America wide activities for the environmental compliance.  This salary position reports to the Senior, VP of Corporate Engineering. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assess corporate and business impacts of new and pending environmental regulations and legislation, and environmental legal challenges, as they may apply to all business lines (cement, concrete/concrete products, aggregates, and fly ash). 
    • Work with business units to develop strategy, work plans, budgets and schedules for implementation. 
    • Work with management to develop environmental/sustainability policy and strategy, including setting, tracking and reporting sustainability and CO2 targets. 
    • Work with BUs and facilities on implementation, as well as developing work plans and tools/metrics for tracking performance. 
    • Communicate sustainability policy, strategy and progress with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Review, monitor, and disseminate new regulations and regulatory changes. 
    • Develop and implement tools for compliance. 
    • Coordinate environmental compliance across business units. 
    • Conduct environmental audits of facilities.
    • Provide compliance summaries for legal, financial and insurance purposes.
    • Represent the company with the Portland Cement Association (PCA) environmental committees for various regulatory changes, legislative and environmental legal issues.  Represent company and industry interests with regulators.
    • Coordinate with Titan Group on U.S. environmental issues, CO2 reporting, water management initiatives, and reporting of Environmental Performance Indicators (EPIs). 
    • Lead Titan America efforts for periodic internal environmental and external non-financial/CSR audits.

    Work on specific long-term, complex capital projects for permitting (air, wetlands, water permits) and with business units/facilities for various projects (air permits, spill plans, due diligence, etc.).

    Required Skills

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BS in Engineering (Environmental/Civil), Environmental Science, or related science (e.g., chemistry, biology). 
    • Legal, regulatory policy, sustainability education/training a bonus.
    • 5 years in industry or consulting with specific experience in regulatory policy and regulatory compliance, sustainability and CO2 initiatives, and air and water permitting.  Professional licensing or other recognized environmental certification preferred.
    • Ability to concisely summarize complex environmental regulatory, legislative and legal issues.
    • Excellent writing, reporting and presentation capabilities, particularly for executive-level and industry groups.
    • Strong spreadsheet capabilities for CO2, water, and sustainability tracking and reporting.

    • Excellent computer skills; including use of Microsoft Office suite including MS Project.
