ROLE of the POSITION This position is responsible for collaborating with the Director of Human Resources to provide leadership and direction for the human resources functions at the School of Medicine. The incumbent provides assistance to the Director of Human Resources, Dean, Chairs, Directors and supervisors within the school addressing employee relations issues. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the classified staff recruitment functions for the School of Medicine. The incumbent provides assistant to those served by interpreting and applying a wide scope of rules and regulations concerning discipline, performance and grievances. The incumbent oversees the Human Resources Management System processing, performs training, and together with the Director of Human Resources, SOM, revises and creates position description questionnaires for new and existing positions. QUALIFICATIONS Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in public administration or a related field and two years of progressively responsible professional personnel experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Strong customer service orientation * Knowledge of human resources * Familiar with or experience working in NSHE/ UNLV or public service * Working knowledge of Workday * Micro soft (word, excel, power point) * Excellent management and organizational skills * Excellent communication skills * Ability to multi-task * Problem solver * Confidential SALARY Grade 34 Step 1, salary $47,710.80. "Step" means the number assigned by the Division of Human Resource Management to identify a specific rate of pay within a grade.
