    New Student and Family Services Graduate Intern General Information Position Number STMP15 Working Title New Student and Family Services Graduate Intern Division Student Affairs Department Dean of Students (Adm) Work Unit Dean of Students Work Location King 208 Vacancy Open To All Candidates Position Designation Non-Student Temporary Employment Type Temporary - Full-time Hours per week 40 Work Schedule Pay Rate $12.50 Minimum Experience/Education Must be a graduate student entering their second year and participate in the NODA intern selection process. Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Duties and Responsibilities Assist in supervising and mentoring 35-40 Orientation Counselors. Assist with professional and personal development of Orientation Counselors. Assist with the implementation of first-year, transfer, and parent/family orientation programs. Advise a small group of Orientation Counselors throughout training and the summer, including reviewing assessment result and providing constructive feedback. Support for developing the student placement sheets per SOAR session. Co-leading and developing various training curriculum for Orientation Counselor summer training. Execute the evening programming (Niner Nights) at all First-Year SOAR sessions. Other duties to be determined based on the interest of the selected candidate(s). Provide a welcoming experience for new students and families through supporting the orientation check-in process; specific tasks are assigned to each graduate intern during check-in and may change for each session. Optional paid registration, conference housing, and conference meals for the 2018 Southern Regional Orientation Workshop ( SROW ), hosted by University of Central Florida. Selected interns will have the option of receiving transportation provided from UNC Charlotte to University of Central Florida and back to UNC Charlotte if they choose to attend. Candidates selected for possible employment will have the opportunity to discuss the UNC Charlotte NODA experience with interns from 2017.
