Approximately 65,000 admission applications (31,000 freshman, 20,000 transfer, and 14,000 graduate) are processed and evaluated each year, augmented by academic credentials (e.g., high school and/or post-secondary transcripts, test scores, residency affidavits, conduct/disciplinary documentation, etc.) for each applicant. POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the processing and evaluation of college applications. Processing high school transcripts, test scores and evaluating the application in full is necessary to make a proper admittance decision. Daily phone and email communication is also required in order to counsel students and their parents regarding the admissions process. Evaluators also review residency and conduct issues. Admissions Evaluator fulfills the administrative requirements to evaluate and process the applications and academic records of prospective students. This position determines if applicants meet established academic requirements with the objective of making admissions decisions. This position typically reports to an administrator in a USF admissions department. This is administrative and clerical work involving accurate data entry of student information into USF's student information databases (BANNER). The Evaluator reviews prospective student applications, test scores, and transcripts, comparing that information to established USF and SUS standards. This is fast-paced, high volume work involving contact with prospective students, parents, and high schools regarding applications, transcripts, and test scores. Evaluate and process high school and post-secondary transcripts in the capacity of entering information manually and reviewing electronic files for accuracy. Evaluate and process CLEP, IB, SAT, ACT, GED and AP test scores for all undergraduate students. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with one year of experience in office, administrative, or academic/student services support positions. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree preferred as is prior experience evaluating postsecondary transcripts, interpreting international credentials, or advising high school or undergraduate students.
