One person at a time. In order to help students and families transition into and throughout their USF experience, New Student Connections and Parent and Family Programs cultivates community, fosters a sense of belonging, and provides individualized support Key initiatives for New Student Connections include Peer Coaching, Week of Welcome, The Network (interest groups) and Meet & Go programming. Additionally, NSC places value on student leadership and development and employs over 18 student leaders to implement these connection and transition focused programs and services. The primary responsibility of the Digital Media Intern is to assist the professional staff team with the development, execution, and management of some marketing efforts (publications, website, social media, etc) for New Student Connections. This individual will serve to assist the main account manager for NSC publication revisions and social media efforts. Specific duties include (but are not limited to): * Working with a wide range of media and using graphic design software. * Thinking creatively and developing new design concepts, graphics, and layouts * Promote engagement opportunities and NSC programs regularly to new students via constant contact, BullSync and social media. * Maintain and update the NSC website (content, calendar, photos, etc), the NSC BullSync page, and NSC social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, etc). * Submit NSC related events, promotions and information through the ProGo submission system. * Work with the NSC professional staff to develop and implement marketing plans for department initiatives. Develop active marketing efforts to engage more students in our work. * Develop content and creative strategies to engage with students through all marketing platforms (social media, website, videos, flyers, etc.) * Attend NSC Sponsored events and document footage for marketing material. * Other duties as assigned. New Student Connections is seeking a self-motivated, energetic, autonomous, and detail-oriented student to serve as our digital media intern. Candidates should be comfortable working in a student-focused and fast-paced environment, and will be expected to work approx. up to 15 hours/week for the duration of the Spring Semester or longer as deemed by New Student Connections. As compensation, the individual will be paid $10 per hour. When applying we are asking candidates to submit a cover letter, resume, and portfolio with the application.
