Statement of Job: The University of Southern Maine is seeking applicants
for a full-time position, 10-month schedule (August-May) Administrative
Specialist CL1 in Registration and Scheduling Services on the Portland
campus. The Administrative Specialist CL1 performs administrative and
clerical work which requires general procedural knowledge and
organizational skills. Work involves considerable internal and external
contacts as well as handling verbal and written communications for a
broad range of questions. This position will assist with and support
Early College initiatives, Summer & Winter sessions, and other
initiatives aimed at attracting diverse audiences to USM. Ability to
work as part of a team is essential, as are providing exemplary customer
service, maintaining confidentiality, the ability to manage multiple
tasks, and to prioritize, and ability to work in a diverse environment
with many interruptions. Judgment and initiative are frequently
exercised and work is typically performed under specific instruction.
Pays $12.69 per hour with a Monday Friday, 8:00am 4:30pm work schedule.

Qualifications: Required: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and
sufficient experience, including one year administrative support
experience. Demonstrated computer proficiency. Good communication
