Valencia College is now hiring a FUNCTIONAL IS SUPPORT SPECIALIST to join the Financial Aid team.

This Functional IS Support Specialist position is an integral part of the Financial Aid technical team and will work under the direction of the Director of Financial Aid System.

Responsibilities within the Financial Aid Office:

Responsibilities include overseeing sending and receiving files to and from COD system, importing and exporting files into and out of Ellucian Banner. Assists in troubleshooting COD origination and disbursement errors and rejects.

Assists in problem-solving/trouble-shooting issues of a technical nature that are reported by internal staff. Assists in software testing of new and existing functionality due to upgrades and systems fixes. Assist in monitoring the departmental automated Appworx (UC4 – Automic) processes.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree equivalent combination of education, experience, training or industry certifications may be substitutable [required]
• Experience with applications and information management systems being used by assigned business unit, including but not limited to, Banner, Luminis, Microsoft Office, People Admin, Cashnet, Higher One, Intelecheck, and Continuity [preferred].
• Experience using reporting and decision support tools [preferred].
• Experience designing business based solutions to support the functions of the assigned business unit [preferred].
• High level experience using SQL navigator against an Oracle database [preferred].
• Experience developing and managing/supporting information management systems related to function of the assigned business unit [preferred].
• Experience in training user groups and communication of complex, technical information to people with varying levels experience and understanding [preferred].
