Tracking Code 599-674 Job Description Reporting to the Bursar/Director of Business Operations, The Student Account Representative is the primary contact for students and parents concerning student accounts. This position serves as an advocate and advisor assisting constituencies with their rights and responsibilities regarding their financial obligation to the University. These duties and responsibilities are typical but are not limited to the following: Provides exceptional customer service to students and parents regarding the details of the student account communication via phone, email and in person Coordinates, processes and maintains third party (sponsor) student billings Coordinates and maintains miscellaneous billing such as book charges, meal plan increments, international insurance, nursing fees, etc Coordinates, prepares and processes student refunds for financial aid, drops/withdrawals and overpayments Maintains current knowledge of financial aid, housing, dining, admissions and registrar processes and how they relate to the student account functions Assists in monitoring adherence to payment plan agreements Works proactively to collect on account balances by investigating and resolving billings discrepancies or redirecting more complex student disputes to the Coordinator of Student Accounts Assists in the pre-collection process via generation and review of an aging receivable report to identify accounts of concern and placement with the University Director of Collection Serves as backup cashier as needed Successful applicants will demonstrate a commitment to cultural diversity and the ability to work with individuals or groups from diverse backgrounds.
