    Digital Content Strategist VanderbiltUniversitys College of Arts and Science (A&S) is seeking a skilled DigitalContent Strategist to plan, develop, implement, and distribute digital contentacross A&Ss various platforms and channels, including web, email, andsocial media. The position creates, edits, and produces content to promote andelevate the brand and messaging of the College to both internal and externalaudiences. The position also develops and maintains metrics to gauge thesuccess of communications efforts, and makes recommendations to enhancestrategies and tactics. The position will work with various stakeholders acrossthe College and the University, manage projects, and look for new andinnovative ways to advance A&Ss news, accomplishments, and visibility withkey audiences. The Digital Content Strategist will be a member of the DeansOffice and will report to the Executive Director of Strategic Affairs &Communications. TheCollege of Arts and Science is the heart of Vanderbilt University. With over 50different majors and minors, A&S is the largest, oldest, and mostacademically diverse school at Vanderbilt. Duties and Responsibilities: Content Creation * Work with various stakeholders (including faculty, staff, students, alumni, Vanderbilts Division of Communications, Vanderbilts Development and Alumni Relations, and others) to identify and source A&S content that promotes the Colleges mission and raises visibility. * Distill and create content (including interviewing, writing, editing, and basic graphic design) into various formats appropriate for different platforms. * Disseminate content across various platforms, including website, email newsletters, and social media. * Ensure that content aligns with A&Ss branding and messaging guidelines and university strategy, and effectively promotes and elevates the College. * Develop presentations and assets that tell the Colleges story to various audiences. Social Media * Serve as a thought partner in developing a strategy to launch A&S social media channels, including (but not necessarily limited to) Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. * Maintain an editorial calendar to plan content dissemination. Work closely with Vanderbilts Division of Communications to coordinate content. * Plan, produce, edit, and post content to A&S social media accounts. * Serve as the social media community manager, sharing information, building relationships, providing customer service, identifying influencers, and fostering engagement. * Research emerging social media platforms and trends, and make recommendations for implementation as appropriate. Website * Maintain the A&S website, including writing new content, making content edits, resizing photos, and using basic HTML and web content management systems. * Work with A&S academic departments to support, assist, and provide guidance on their departmental websites. * Explore and present ways to better organize and display website content. E-newsletter * Create and disseminate monthly e-newsletter, including identifying and writing content, doing design and layout, and distributing through email marketing platform. * Stay abreast of best practices in email marketing and e-newsletters. * Help to create new strategy and design for e-newsletter. Data management and analysis * Analyze data on the results of digital communications efforts, including social media, website, and e-newsletter. * Develop reports on performance and engagement and present outcomes. Make recommendations on how to enhance efforts to effectively promote A&S messaging and brand. Other duties as assigned. _Profile of an IdealCandidate: _ * A Bachelors degree and at least 3-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field is required. Must include experience in creating and managing content across digital platforms, including websites, email marketing, and a track record of success in social media. * A comprehensive understanding of how digital communications can be used in an organizations communications strategies; demonstrate excellent news judgment; and have excellent written communications skills. * Experience with: Google Analytics; listening tools such as Hootsuite or Tweetdeck; basic HTML and web content management systems; Photoshop; and Adobe Creative Suite. Basic video production/editing skills not required, but a plus. * Ability to produce attractive, high-quality presentations, documents, and simple graphics. * Excellent verbal, writing, and project planning skills. * Ability to successfully manage projects and juggle multiple assignments and deadlines at one time. * Experience measuring and monitoring digital marketing and how these analytics can be applied to marketing and communications strategies.
