Job Description Summary The Program Coordinator is an active member of the Writing Program and Writing Center communities who collaborates with Directors of Writing Center and Writing Program to support the missions of each unit. The Program Coordinator coordinates aspects of Center and Program initiatives, supports the Center Director with management of the Center, and provides administrative and logistical assistance for all aspects of the Writing Center and Writing Program. Job Description Essential Functions: * Builds partnerships with scholarly and community organizations and academic institutions; fosters relationships across the University by collaborating with other offices. * Assists with development and implementation of the Writing Center programming and Writing Program initiatives. * Creates and disseminates publicity materials (i.e., emails, flyers, and brochures) for the Writing Program and Writing Center events. * Collects and/or generates and organizes data to assist Center and Program Directors with research and assessment. * Coordinates faculty and student events (i.e., meetings, retreats, and receptions).nbsp; * Assists the Directors with staff reviews. * Organizes recruitment of permanent and adjunct faculty, as well as Writing Center student tutoring staff (i.e., onboarding paperwork). * Manages schedule and payroll for student tutoring staff. * Provides professional development for tutoring staff and coordinates outreach activities involving students and faculty. * Manages course schedule and enrollment. * Administers Program and Center budgets (i.e., special funds and gifts). * Liaises with counterparts in relevant campus units. * Acts as secondary supervisor to tutoring staff. * Assists with daily operation of the Writing Center, (i.e., answering phones, staffing reception desk, and ordering supplies); provides other general administrative and logistical support. Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: * Bachelors degree and three years of relevant work experience. * Demonstrable programming experience and facilitation skills around writing studies and/or student development. * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with multiple constituencies of diverse identities and backgrounds. * Demonstrated ability in problem solving and conflict resolution. * Ability to collaborate, build strong relationships, and align project work with Universitys larger mission. * Proven success managing an organizations communications. * Ability to work beyond the standard workday, including nights and weekends, for programs and special events. * Excellent communication and time management skills.nbsp; * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative, WordPress, the internet, and other relevant software. * Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner. * Ability to organize workflow and coordinate activities. nbsp; Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: * Bachelor's degree in English, Communication, or related field. * Related experience in a University setting.
