Department Name/Job Location This position is in the Department of Neurology. The position is located at Biotechnology Center. This position is for the Medical School Campus. Essential Functions POSITION SUMMARY: The principal responsibility of this position is to provide adminstrative assistance to the PI of an active clinical and translational research lab in the Neurology Department at Washington University School of Medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, organizing, and managing schedules and conducting other adminstrative tasks for PI and members of the research team. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Maintain PI's calendar, scheduling appointments, phone calls, meetings. 2. Schedule meetings and appointments for clinical research group; help to prepare agenda and meeting minutes. 3. Organize PI's travel by coordinating flights, hotel, registration for meetings, correspondence with host, submitting receipts after travel and preparing agenda/itinerary for each meeting. 4. Answer phone calls and directs inquiries to PI or other members of the research team. 5. Serve as a primary contact PI's group especially contacts from outside Washington University. 6. Serve as a primary contact for any media relations activities and help make sure public facing websites or other activities are updated routinely. 7. Maintain current versions of PIs Curriculum Vitae, lists of publications, and other biographical and professional documents. 8. Draft and send routine correspondence on behalf of PI, lab members and clinical research group. 9. Other administrative tasks including faxing, copying, printing, organizing. Required Qualifications Equivalent of high school diploma with 2 years of experience in healthcare/medical-related office setting. Preferred Qualifications * Experience in university/medical environment. * Possess excellent written and computer skills: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook. * Strong organizational and communication skills. * Ability to handle information with high degree of confidentiality. * Abitlity to take initiative, anticipate scheduling needs and work independently, while also succeeding in a team environment. * Resourcefullness and good problem solving skills. * Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines. * Excellent organization, and communication skills. * Ability to anticipate scheduling conflicts, quickly learn new tasks, and help solve problems. Salary Range The hiring range for this position is $14.03 - $17.53 per hour.
